Visiting / Summer Students

Even if you are enrolled at another college or university, courses at Northampton Community College can be an affordable and convenient way of completing required classes. The credits you earn here will transfer easily to your college. And taking a few courses during summer vacations could help you finish your bachelor's degree sooner, saving you time and money.

We're Open
Northampton has an open admissions policy, which means that if you have at least a high school diploma or a GED and you follow our procedures, you will be admitted to the college to register for classes.

The Basics
It all starts with Northampton's standard application form and a $25 non-refundable fee. Everyone wishing to take courses for college credit at NCC -- including all degree and certificate programs -- needs to take this initial step.

You can submit your application to the college's Main Campus Admissions Office, the Monroe Campus Enrollment Office, or right here online.

One More Thing

You may not need to apply, if:

• You've already been accepted to Northampton but haven't taken a class in more than a semester. Simply fill out a re-admit form to get back on track.
• You are interested in taking non-credit courses for leisure or personal enrichment. Visit our Business and Community Education page for more information.
• You are interested in professional development and certification programs, such as Microsoft certification or continuing education courses for licensed real estate agents.

You're In! Now What?

• Register. New students can register in person, by fax or by mail. You will need to be prepared to supply proof of course pre-requisites, if necessary.
• Pay your tuition. Bills are handled through the college's Bursar's Office.
• Buy your books. Bring your course schedule with you to one of NCC's campus bookstores and the staff will help you find what you need. You can also purchase your books online.
• Go to class. Throughout every stage of the admissions process, Northampton staff members and faculty are available to help you. Now it's up to you to take the next step - through the doorway of your classroom.
