Allied Health Professions
Because NCC's Allied Health programs are more academically challenging, it's vital that you begin with a strong foundation of courses and/or experience related to the major. Please review the requirements for the program you are interested in to determine if you are ready for admission.
Dental Hygiene (preferred deadline February 1 - Fall start only)
Requirements for Acceptance
- High school Chemistry and Biology with labs and grades of B or better and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. (College courses can be substituted for missing high school requirements.)
- For those with more than 12 college credits - college level Chemistry and Biology courses can be a B- or better and the grade point average requirement is 2.70 or higher.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Specialized Diploma - designed for students with an Allied Health background (preferred deadline February 1 - Spring start only)
Requirements for Acceptance
- Completion of high school or equivalent courses at a post-secondary institution
- College Algebra
- Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II
- English I and Speech Communication
- Introduction to Computers or three, one credit courses through OE/OE (OFAD 141, 142, 143)
- Fundamentals of Sonography: DMSG101
- Introduction to Acoustical Physics: DMSG103
- Allied health background
- Grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Visit affiliated hospital
- Career Assessment Form
- Interview (qualified applicants will be notified of date)

Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Associate's Degree (preferred deadline February 1 - Fall start only)
Requirements for Acceptance
- High school Biology with a lab and a grade of B or better, Algebra I and II with grades of C or better and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. (College courses can be substituted for missing high school requirements.)

- For Accelerated Program - completion of all general education credits with an overall college grade point average of 2.5 or higher

Medical Assistant (preferred deadline February 1 - Fall start only)
Requirements For Acceptance
- One year of high school biology or NCC equivalent (BIOS105, 107, 115) with a grade of C or better
- One year of high school algebra or NCC equivalent (MATH022) with a grade of C or better
- English 101 eligibility
Requirements After Acceptance

- Physical examination forms and immunization history
- Documentation of recent hepatitis B vaccination or relevant titer
Nursing - RN / Nursing - LPN (preferred deadline February 1 for Fall start and September 15 for Spring start)
Requirements for Acceptance
- RN: High school Chemistry and Biology with labs and grades of B or better, Algebra I and II with grades of C or better and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. College courses can be substituted for missing high school requirements.
- Advanced Placement RN: RN requirements above, 3.0 in college level courses applicable to the program, completed specified RN general education core with C or better, current LPN license, passed the required Excelsior exams
- LPN: High school Algebra I and Biology with grades of C or better and a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. College courses can be substituted for missing high school requirements.
- All: Attend a Mandatory Information Session. Applicants will be contacted with dates of sessions.

Requirements For Acceptance
- Completion of high school Chemistry with a grade of B or better or NCC's CHEM 135
- High school biology or NCC equivalent BIOS 107, 115 with a grade of C or better.
