Free Healthcare Career Match

Healthcare Career Match, a training and development program, is available to participants - including displaced workers, adults looking for a career change, college students with undeclared majors, and high school students considering college for the first time. Participants will learn the core skills required in any area of healthcare, explore various careers and settings, reflect on their own skills & career goals, and identify the requirements for allied health programs at Northampton Community College and desired employment qualifications.

The online training takes approximately 30 hours over a month to complete, can be done at any computer with an Internet connection, and during times that work best for you! The core skills necessary in healthcare are covered in seven modules with topics in the areas of:

  • Personal Qualities & Communications
  • Computer Basics & Medical Terminology
  • Healthcare Systems & Careers
  • Legal & Ethical Responsibilities

During the month, participants meet regularly with an Instructor/Career Coach to reinforce online learning, address any questions, resume support in preparation for healthcare, and provide guidance and resources to help you pursue your career goals. Regular meetings with a career coach and other participants may include in-person meetings, conference calls, telephone and email correspondence, and/or blogs.
