Northampton Community College (NCC) has released its Placement Report for the Class of 2012.
The results were compiled by the career services office, who surveyed individuals who completed degree, certificate and specialized diploma programs in August 2011, December 2011 and May 2012 -- a total of 1,645 graduates. Eighty-six percent of these graduates responded to the survey.
•· 90% of the respondents were either employed or continuing their educations
•· 77% of the employed career program respondents were employed in a position related to their field of study. 9% of respondents were employed in unrelated positions by choice. Therefore, 86% of respondents were working in fields of their choice.
•· The highest median salary, $58,240, was reported in the dental hygiene program. The second highest median salary, $57,262, was reported in the electronics technology program and the third highest, $52,000 was reported in the diagnostic medical sonography program.
•· Graduates continued their educations at 87 different educational institutions. 48% continued their educations at public-supported colleges in Pennsylvania, 24% at private institutions in Pennsylvania, and 14% at institutions outside of Pennsylvania.
