Tech Prep

The Tech Prep Program typically combines at least two years of high school with two years of college to prepare students for college and careers in a diverse, high performing workplace. To facilitate this objective, SOAR (Students Occupationally and Academically Ready) was created.

SOAR is built on Programs of Study (POS) which incorporate secondary education and postsecondary elements that combine coherent and rigorous content with challenging academic standards and relevant career and technical content.

SOAR programs lead students into a career pathway that align the secondary courses to a postsecondary program to complete a degree or certificate. The program prepares students for High Priority Occupations that are in demand by employers, such as, engineering technology, welding technology, health and human services, and computer technology.

Benefits of SOAR:

  • Saving money on college tuition
  • Saving time by shortening college attendance
  • Getting on the right career pathway
  • Entering the job market ready
  • Getting a consistent education
