Fulfilling a Need: As long as there are computers and information-sharing networks, there will be a need for those who can modify, repair and upgrade them. The Computer Maintenance & Service Technology program provides a solid foundation in the principles of electronic concepts, with an emphasis on the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer systems, networks, and associated equipment.
Along with a broad, general electronics background, students are given comprehensive information and training in computer system structure, device operation, installation procedures, and troubleshooting practices. Industry-experienced instructors teach effective problem solving, from data collection to corrective action and testing. Students carry out lab work in NCC’s Hartzell Technology Hall, using the latest equipment to keep up with industry trends. Students also take part in two practicums that provide on-the-job experience and prepare for real-world situations.
