Web Development

Web DevelopmentIn today's fast-paced business climate, organizations are always seeking new ways to streamline the costs and processes associated with electronic marketing. Businesses want their websites to serve critical functions in marketing and customer relations while staying up-to-date, fairly inexpensive and interactive.

Today's web developers must be on the cutting edge of advancements in web development, or risk losing clients or potential business. Students in the Web Development program learn to keep up with these demands by creating and combining the components that are needed to run a successful website.

The program combines the creative and the technical aspects of web development. The creative side focuses on web page design, basic programming skills, editing, and managing databases. The technical side focuses on skills that are also obtained through the computer information technology program; the focus is on the infrastructure of the Internet and offering technical support for users within a business. Students will work with design applications such as Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator, and with programming languages such as ASP, PHP, AJAX, JavaScript, Java, and MYSQL.
