The radiography curriculum combines science, general education, and professional courses conducted on the college's main campus with extensive clinical education performed at area hospitals. Students learn with state-of-the-art imaging technology in the two radiographic rooms in the Wogenrich Lab, allowing them to practice their skills in structured and competency-based education.
The courses in the curriculum are also designed to build sequentially upon the knowledge learned in previous courses. Therefore, all required courses must be taken in sequence, and all prerequisites must be met prior to registration. Minimum admission requirements include high school biology and specified math courses with an overall GPA of 2.5 or better. Applicants should meet with an academic advisor to discuss these and other eligibility requirements.
Clinical education at affiliated hospitals is scheduled during the break between the fall and spring semesters and during both summer sessions at the end of the first year, for 40 hours per week. Graduates of the program will be able to use knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and radiographic techniques to accurately show anatomical structures on a radiograph. They also learn to anticipate patient needs and provide appropriate patient education while exercising good judgment in all aspects of their work.
