Responsibilities of a health care office specialist include front-office duties, health services coding, and patient insurance reimbursement, but these responsibilities can vary depending on the size of the practice.
Courses in this program include Basics of Human Anatomy and Physiology, CPT Coding Methodology, PCS Coding Methodologies, Health Insurance Basics, and Health Information Technology.
The career potential for certificate holders includes positions as Medical Receptionists, Medical Secretaries, Medical Administrative Assistants, Patient Coordinators, Medical Billing Clerks, Medical Coders, and Medical Records Clerks. Graduates of this certificate program can also continue their education and complete the Health Care Office Coordinator associate degree with ease.
