A journalism student immersed in the AP StylebookJournalism and Radio/TV courses provide a theoretical foundation and training for transfer to a four-year program or jobs in print and electronic media. Students are given insight into the social and economic issues and information needs of society. Students also take part in hands-on training to gain an in-depth understanding of various aspects of media. They are encouraged to think out of the box and hone their research and investigative skills. Journalism courses also offer insight and instruction on editing, layout and design.

All students are required to learn every aspect of functioning of radio and television channels. In keeping pace with fast changing technology and its implications for media work, the courses are designed to train students in multi-tasking. Students will be both behind cameras and microphones, using state-of-the-art broadcast quality equipment. Both the journalism and Radio/TV programs provide an all-round development of the students' faculties, both conceptual and practical.
