Kwanjai Chonlapan

Kwanjai Chonlapan (her friends call her KC) began teaching cooking at NCC, Spring 2016.  She came to the US in 1989 from Thailand.  She thanks her grandma for her knowledge of cooking.

Her theory is that, when you want to eat something badly enough, you will find a way to make it!  KC's joy of cooking can be credited to the reaction and the appreciation from the people that she cooks for.  After noticing some cultural cooking classes in the local newspaper, she realized that she personally knew some of the instructors, and thought to herself, "Maybe I can do that and make some new friends in the process!  It was quite a challenge, since I was not sure if the students would understand me because I have a very detectable accent!  I had a dream to teach at NCC, and that has been fulfilled."
