Michelle Trent

Michelle M.L. Trent is a certified Plant-based Nutrition Educator and Certified Personal Trainer. She began teaching at NCC Fowler Campus in 2014 in the areas of Plant-based Nutrition, Diet and Disease, and Cooking Instruction.

After completing her Plant-based Nutrition education in 2011, Michelle founded The Joyful Elephant, a Wellness Coaching business www.joyfulelephant.com. She helps individuals transition to a healthy lifestyle by providing: diet coaching, menu planning, chef services, in-home cooking demonstrations, and public speaking.

Michelle's mission is to help people live healthy, disease-free lives full of an abundance of energy and vitality using food as the source of this optimum wellness. Michelle has an enormous passion for local farms and uses locally grown organic produce in her presentations.

Her goal is for students to recreate at home what they learned in class. Using interactive discussions, Michelle weaves nutrition facts into her presentations so that students come away with both the "why" and the "how."
