CALA0221 - Life Drawing: The Nude Model
Join us for this Life Drawing session. All levels welcome. Generally, a different model will be provided each week, alternating male and female. Typically, poses will be one-half hour to one hour. Facilitator and students will decide on poses and critique each other's work. There will be no formal instruction. A collegial atmosphere is encouraged. Class size is limited to ten students.

CALA0222 - Traditional Illustration
Illustration is communicating through image-making. Illustratrators are artists who work in various media to form visual ideas and stories and to provide information. Illustrations are the creative images found in magazines, childrens' books, graphic novels and newspapers, on book and CD covers, in film, computer games and advertisements, and on websites, television and more. You will learn the basics of traditional illustration utilizing a variety of media. A twelve-hour Pennsylvania Bureau of Motor Vehicles program leading to certification by the state as an official inspection mechanic. This workshop will increase participant awareness of the benefits of group problem solving and the advantages of using a systematic problem solving methodology. A 4-step basic process is introduced to lead from problem to solution. Problem definition and causal analysis are emphasized. This one-night course will introduce students to the traditions of beers from the Isles through an examination and sampling of various English, Scottish and Irish beers. CAL-7381 - Wine Appreciation: Introduction to Wines of France
Many people begin their wine love affair with French wine, venture into the rest of the world, and come back to France. Seven of the eight greatest wine grapes of the world are from France. In 2008 the French Government instituted a series of nine separate courses on the wines of France. Upon completion of the course series, the participant receives a diploma from the French Wine Academy. Prof. Springer has been licensed by the French Wine Academy to teach the course series. Introduction to French Wine is the first course in the series. Participants will learn new information about the vineyards of France and what makes French wine unique and inimitable even though the noble French grapes are grown though out the rest of the world.
