Teachers inspire, guide and instruct so that each student experiences personal, social and intellectual success. Teachers challenge and engage students' thought processes and reasoning ability. They engage each student in learning and using reading, writing, mathematics, and science. Student success and personal engagement is what drives teachers to continue.

For many teachers, being around young people every day helps them remain knowledgeable about current trends and issues. It also helps to break down barriers. Teachers learn the use of reflection, observation and decision-making to guide their actions when it comes to dealing with both children and parents.
