Paul Harryn '75
Paul Harryn is the artist/principal of Harryn Studios, dedicated to contemporary art, in Easton. With works exhibited internationally, Paul says that becoming an artist is only one aspect of his journey. "My art is a highly specialized field of inquiry that is often beyond the parameters of popular taste," he says. "My art is about the 'life force' in which we are embedded while always questioning our role within it." Critics have lauded his work as imaginative, brilliant and original.
Paul attended NCC in the College's early years and says that every day there was a memorable achievement. Long conversations with his advisors, Bob Doney and Gerald Rowan, and his studio instructor Robert Ranieri proved inspiring. "They taught me that there was so much more if I wanted to be the best," Paul says. "NCC gave me the tools to lay a solid foundation for the dreams that continue today."
