Hospitality Management: Meeting and Event Planning

Students earning an associate degree in applied science in Hospitality Management: Meeting and Event Planning will gain solid business knowledge and comprehensive skills designed to help prepare for a career in the event and meeting industries for any of the corporate, association, social, leisure, or hospitality and tourism arenas. The curriculum exposes students to develop and enhance planning and coordination skills, sales techniques, to research locations and activities available, and gain business acumen necessary for success in providing the highest level of guest service and satisfaction. Types of jobs available upon completion of the degree may include event coordinator, meeting planner, convention and visitor bureau director, destination wedding planner, package tour coordinator, group travel leader and festival/entertainment management.

Meeting and Event Planning A.A.S. graduates have potential job opportunities at local casino/hotels in the area, Coca Cola Park, PPL Center, the Sands Event Center, the proposed Bethlehem Convention Center and in the current and developing Poconos region.
