Congrats, Beta Beta Chi!
Northampton Community College's (NCC) chapter of Beta Beta Chi, which is on the Monroe Campus, has been named a REACH chapter, a reward that recognizes chapters that excel in membership development.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges. The organization promotes community service. To be eligible for membership, a student must have completed at least 12 hours of associate degree course work with a cumulative 3.5 GPA.
"We did this [established the award] because we want as many students as possible to receive the benefits of membership," PTK officials said. "These benefits include scholarships and increased opportunities for engagement with peers and key faculty members."
In 2016, the Beta Beta Chi chapter was awarded the PTK received several multi-state regional award and the Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Award.
