Studying the architecture, art, history and culture of Spain, NCC students toured the country as part of the Architecture of the City: Classic to Contemporary course.
"It's been a great experience for our students. They were able to sketch and journal during the whole journey," Daniel Ebner, assistant professor of architecture and interior design, said of the journey students took to Madrid, Toledo, and to sights such as the Royal Palace, the Reina Sofia and Prado Museums, and the Royal Theatre.
Students visiting Costa Rica learned about the politics, culture and practice of peace there not only from their surroundings but from a very special person. They were invited to spend the evening at the home of former First Lady of Costa Rica Karen Figueres in San José. Her husband, President Jose Figueres Ferrer, abolished Costa Rica's army in the 1950s.
"Needless to say, it was an evening our students will never forget," Donna Acerra, professor of communications, said.
Up next: NCC students will be winging their way to China on July 5!
