PSECU Holds Grand Opening Celebration
The newest office of PSECU opened its doors at Northampton Community College's Monroe Campus on Tuesday, September 29, with a celebration, a ribbon-cutting, and a big check.
Started in 1934 by 22 Pennsylvania state workers, the credit union has grown to include more than 425,000 members, with a presence on 20 college campuses in the state. PSECU offers many free services to students, faculty and staff who join, including checking, online and mobile banking, and ATM use.
Matt Connell, dean of NCC Monroe, thanked PSECU for their support at the campus, which includes three paid internships and a five-year scholarship program.
NCC President Dr. Mark Erickson said, "This is a wonderful partnership between the College and PSECU. They provide financial education to our students, as well as internships. This helps them prepare for the world after NCC."
Barb Bowker, vice president of marketing for PSECU, presented Dr. Erickson with a check for $15,000 toward the scholarship program at NCC Monroe.
Students enjoyed the celebration as well, which included a photo booth, prize grab, giant Jenga, cornhole, and free t-shirts, popcorn and tacos.
PSECU also has an office at NCC's Bethlehem campus, opened in August 2014. For more information and to join PSECU, visit the location on your campus, or go to psecu.com.
