Each year, a growing number of high-achieving students choose to complete their first two years of studies at Northampton Community College before going on to pursue degrees at four-year institutions. To serve its most academically prepared students, Northampton offers the
NCC Honors Program, a dynamic, exciting and challenging academic experience in which students learn to think critically, creatively, and independently.
Students enrolled in the Honors Program have the opportunity to compete for scholarships. This year's recipients are:
Emil Boulous (Easton), Shannon Haines (Easton), Laura Hernandez (Bethlehem), Michael Irelan (Allentown), Alexander Maher (East Berlin), Jessica Medina (Walnutport), Casey Ord (Palmerton), Yuri Rego (Easton) and Robert Wenz (Nazareth).
Admission to the Honors Program is selective. Students must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or graduate in the top 20% of their high school class or have a minimum college or university GPA of 3.5 after 12 hours of coursework.
Students in the program are enrolled in a variety of majors including math, physics, liberal arts, funeral service, veterinary technology and more. NCC offers programs in close to 100 fields of study. The Honors Program may be completed in conjunction with any major.
