Pharmacy Technician Training & Exam Prep Program
The role of an entry level pharmacy technician is to assist a licensed pharmacist by performing support duties such as; screening prescription orders for completeness and accuracy, preparing prescriptions and mixing medications, managing medication distribution and control systems, providing drug information and education to patients, especially as it relates to the potential for negative side effects, and monitoring the pharmacy's compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws. The certification exam is administered by NHA and the $115 exam fee is not included in the tuition. Program is held at the Fowler Family Southside Center in the spring and the Monroe County Campus in the Fall.
