Three of the top six students in a statewide computer networking competition were from Northampton Community College. The others were from Penn College of Technology and California University of Pennsylvania.
Schoenagel will now get a chance to compete with the top networking students from all over North America in CISCO Networking Academy's NETRIDERS Competition.
The winner will get an all-expense paid trip to Silicon Valley to meet with engineers and executives at CISCO and another technology company, to visit Stanford University, and to do some sightseeing.
"This is the second year in a row that we have had a student finish in the top two in Pennsylvania ," says Kevin Manna, associate professor of computer science at Northampton Community College.
In the competition, students demonstrate their networking and information technology skills through a series of online exams and simulation activities designed to enhance classroom learning and to encourage students to further their career development in information technology.
