Thirty-one professionals employed by local businesses and non-profit organizations graduated from Leadership Lehigh Valley (LLV) on June 4. The program based at Northampton Community College (NCC) has been developing community leaders for approximately thirty years. LLV became a program of NCC's Center for Business & Industry (CBI) in 2013, as part of its highly regarded Executive and Leadership Development division.
Participants in the program learn the best practices of effective leaders in order to benefit their organizations, develop a deeper understanding of the problems within the communities of the Lehigh Valley, and identify a field of community involvement for which they can advocate.
LLV grad Lane Donatelli put what he learned to use in May. Discovering a need at Lincoln Elementary School in Bethlehem for 400 binders to use in the school's "Leader in Me" character education program, Donatelli got his employer, AlliedBarton Security Services in Allentown, to donate the binders.
