From the Band of Brothers Club: Our first bake sale of the fall term will be held on Thursday, September 25, in the Food Court. From Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union: PSECU recently opened a location in College Center, next to the bookstore. Students, faculty and staff are eligibile to join and take advantage of their free checking, free ATMs, free bill payer service and more. Stop by to find out about the $50 promotion for students, now through September 30.
From Career Services: If you're enrolled in a career or technical program, find out more about membership in the NCC chapter of SkillsUSA at an informational lunch on Tuesday, September 30, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 135 of Penn Hall. Learn about opportunities that come with membership, including leadership development, community service, conferences, and competitions.
From the Health and Wellness Center: The Health Center will begin administering flu shots on October 1. The cost is $27 for the quadrivalent influenza vaccine which protects against four viral strains instead of three, so more value for your money. No appointment necessary. Flu shots will be administered 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
From The Laconic (NCC's Literary and Art Magazine): The deadline for submissions to The Laconic is October 3. Students, faculty, and staff may submit up to 3 works each: stories, poems, drawings, paintings, photos, and other visual arts. Send submissions to LaconicNcc@gmail.com. From the East 40 Community Garden: Purchase fresh produce from NCC's East 40 Community Garden on Wednesdays in the Quad on Main Campus, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In case of rain, the market will be held in the lobby of College Center. The market will held every Wednesday until early November. The latest crops, honey from NCC hives (when available) and East 40 t-shirts, hoodies, and handmade pottery will be sold.
