The only thing that might have made Quadfest 2013 a better party would have been a bigger Quad! The largest Quadfest in NCC history (nearly 60 student organizations and 27 community groups!) had a jungle theme, complete with zip-lining (insert Tarzan-yell here) and reptiles.
The annual welcome event, held on August 29, opened with a golf-cart parade of NCC dignitaries, including President Dr. Mark Erickson, Vice President of Student Affairs Mardi McGuire-Closson, and Student Senators Angel Diaz (president), Joseph Ortiz (vice president) Carolina Mayor (secretary) and Dailyn Yaris Mota (treasurer). The International Student Organization followed behind with a colorful parade of flags.
A capacity crowd munched on picnic fare of hot dogs and watermelon while browsing club tables and dancing to the awesome musical stylings of DJ Mikey G (a.k.a. Michaelangelo Gabat). Contests included men's and women's arm wrestling competitions. And the bold and the brave lined up to give zip-lining a try!
Sponsored by Student Life and the Student Senate, this Quadfest will surely go down in history as one of the best NCC parties ... ever!
