The Science Olympiad

Area high school students participated in the annual Science Olympiad competition at Northampton Community College on February 28. The Science Olympiad is a tournament of rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of individual and team events.

Thirteen area high schools participated in the Science Olympiad. The competition was broken up into three divisions: Mountain Valley Conference, Lehigh Valley Conference, and Overall. Schools competed against other schools in their regions, and then for overall bragging rights.

The day finished with an awards ceremony at which the winners were announced:

Overall 2014 Science Olympiad Champion: Central Catholic
Mountain Valley Winner - E. Stroudsburg South
Lehigh Valley Winner - Central Catholic
