What's New This Fall?

August 18, 2014

Whew! We've been busy at Northampton Community College! Building new campuses and improving the old are just a few of the things we've been up to.

The Brand-Spanking New Monroe CampusMonroe Campus Keystone Hall
Cue the happy dance! After years of dreaming, planning and building, it is finally here, nestled in a beautiful spot among the Pocono Mountains.  The Monroe Campus boasts state-of-the-art classrooms and energy-efficiency. Plus you just can't beat the views! After you take a closer look at the campus, we know you'll want to be a part of it. No problem. There is still time to register for fall classes!

New Degrees, Programs and Transfer Opportunities
NCC will offer a new public health associate in applied science degree this fall at the Monroe Campus and at the Main Campus in spring 2015.

Over the summer, Pennsylvania College of Technology joined the over 50 colleges that have articulation agreements with NCC. The new agreement gives students in the construction management associate degree program a clear and efficient path to complete a bachelor's degree at Penn College.

Plus a new Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC/R) and Refrigeration certificate program has been added to the HVAC/R offerings here at NCC.

Did we mention yet there is still time to register for fall classes?!?

New Main Campus BookstoreA New Chapter for the Main Campus Bookstore
We're turning a new page when it comes to shopping for textbooks, supplies, and NCC clothing and accessories. Gone are the Spartan Shop and the old bookstore. They've been combined into one awesome shopping experience. You'll find the bigger and better bookstore in College Center Room 153, located next to the Spartan Center.

New Banking Options
A credit union that specializes in services for college students has opened a branch at Main Campus right next to the bookstore. Membership in the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU) is open to students, faculty and staff of NCC. Stop by to learn more!

New Construction Zone
The new Monroe Campus may be finished, but we're not putting our hard hats away just yet! Northampton is the only community college in Pennsylvania to provide on-campus housing, and we're excited to be adding room for 300 more students with the construction of the new residence hall at Main Campus. The addition to the existing residence hall, which currently house about 260 students, is expected to be finished in time for Fall 2015.

Other areas of Main were spruced up over the summer, including the repaving of parking lots and a new main staircase in College Center.

New Wheels
The wheels on Northampton's new RV will go round and round to high schools, athletic games, and other community events! Stop by and say hi if you see the RV out and about and feel free to ask questions about admissions or anything else you'd like to know!

So many great things happened, we're probably forgetting something. But no worries! It's time to make a lot of fabulous new memories while breaking new ground this semester. Come join us!
