Dance

NCC does not offer a degree in Dance.  Students may opt, however, to include dance as part of the GE Core Curriculum. From Dance History to Ballet, Modern Dance and Jazz, students are swept through the history of dance as a form of artistic expression. Principles of modern dance techniques are introduced. Improvisation and structured choreography implemented. The courses teach students to translate life's stories into physical movement and build a strong foundation for transfer. NCC's goal is to provide quality training and have dance provide an overall enhancement to the GE Core Curriculum requirements.

NCC's Lipkin Theatre is used for the Artists-in-Residence and guest choreographers to make intimate presentations to the students, who are encouraged to think about the program content and translate it into movement. Students then come together to put their individual movements into one show that is performed for the public during three-day runs at Lipkin Theatre.  In addition, the dance program sponsors master classes with guest teachers from New York City and Philadelphia each semester, and these courses are open to the public. The program also hosts performances by the Winged Woman Dance Company and Monarch Dance Company.
