NCC does not offer a degree in Psychology. However, psychology courses are an important part of the Liberal Arts transfer degree, which represents the first two years of a bachelor's degree. Students need to complete Introduction to Psychology, and select three additional courses from the following: Adolescent Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of Sex and Gender, Introduction to Health Psychology, and either Developmental Psychology or Child Psychology (both may not be used for credit).
Psychology is considered the study of human behavior. It seeks to understand and explain both normal and abnormal behavior, mental ability, perception, development and individual differences. Psychological study explores human emotions, thoughts, and motives. Major sub-branches within psychology include educational psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, and child psychology.
