In many ways, web developers will engineer most 21st century communications. Web developers provide a number of fundamental skills that enable organizations to communicate and do business on the web.

The Web Development and Web Site Design programs will provide students with the skills to help build the 21st century's digital domain. Students will leave the program prepared to apply HTML, XML, Javascript, graphics applications, and other tools to the design, editing, and publishing of documents, images, graphics, sound, and multimedia products on the Web. The programs include instruction in web theory; web page standards and policies; elements of web page design; user interfaces; vector graphic tools; special effects; interactive and multimedia components; search engines; navigation; and emerging web technologies.

Your Career in Web Development and Design

Web developers use information technology (IT) to advance their organization's goals, and create websites to help firms have a public face. Many of these workers are employed in computer systems design and related services firms. Most web developers work full time.
