Alison Diefenderfer began teaching Horizons for Youth courses in standardized test preparation and study skills at Main and Fowler campuses several years ago. She is an adjunct professor of anthropology and sociology at local community and selective liberal arts colleges, including dual enrollment, online, and campus course settings.
She also tutors remotely for a university, and is certified in college-level tutoring and online course design. Her tutoring experiences span from mathematics to writing and study skills, from elementary school to graduate level students. Alison has taught at the collegiate level for 3½ years, and has tutored for many more.
Alison's engagement in K-12 learning includes her work with a regional science fair and writing for a professional science newsletter's "science and education" column. She holds both a BA (Phi Beta Kappa) and MS earned at research institutions and is studying part-time in a top 10 graduate school of education.
