David Bolash has been teaching, designing jewelry and creating in metal for over 35 years. He developed the Jewelry Arts program at NCC in 1990, where he can emphasize that which he believes is most important in a crafts education: mastering the skills and understanding the science behind the art.
David holds a BS in Art Education from Kutztown University, where he was ranked first in his department upon graduation. He refined his metalsmithing skills through studies as an exchange student in England, at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, and was privately tutored by a master silversmith.
In addition to running a custom jewelry design and repair studio, David worked as a goldsmith in New Jersey, San Francisco and Philadelphia. His experience in education began as a high school art teacher, and he also currently volunteers as a drafting and jewelry making instructor for Allentown teenagers.
