Sharon Maria Thourot, a K-12 Special Education Teacher since 2013, has become a member of NCC's Community Education Program since the summer of 2016.
Her newly assigned position as a teacher employs research-based best practices known as Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Concepts which allow a whole lot of creativity, imagination, and interactive (diversified) instruction which help students with all types of learning styles become successful in and out of the classroom. As a New Jersey native, Mrs. Thourot, maiden name (Perrotta), spent many years visiting the upbeat attractions of New York City. Her love for the city and the fashion world, as well as culture, architecture, and theatre - mainly musicals, and drama, inspired her to attend FIT to complete her studies in Fashion Merchandising. She spent over twenty years employed in this vocation. As for the beautiful beaches of the Jersey Shore, anytime was the right time of year to visit. Mrs. Thourot has always found spiritual inspiration in her walks along the beach. She also enjoys an occasional 5K on the boardwalk, or rollerblading and a bicycle ride while site seeing. In June of 1998, while visiting friends at the beach, is where she met her husband. Now, she gets to share her love for culture in the city and the seascapes by the shore with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
