Taking place in College Center 220, this is "50 Years Down the Line" event supported by the NCC Foundation Humanities grant and in conjunction NCC's DEI office. Veteran music industry executives Michelle Joyce and Dr. LaJoyce Brookshire have revealed the untold history of some of the most iconic Hip Hop artists of all time. In their best selling book, Women Behind The Mic Joyce and Brookshire captured the saga of the industry "Sheroes" who quietly toiled in the trenches curating what is known as Hip Hop and Pop Culture today. Propelled by a Sisterhood that personifies excellence and the importance of maintaining a positive self-esteem while working in a male-dominated industry, Michelle Joyce and Dr. LaJoyce Brookshire will share in discussion of their front row seat stories while working behind-the-scenes with some of the biggest names in entertainment.
