A packed Student Life Zone cheered on the NCC Spartans women's volleyball team at a pep rally held on Tuesday, November 10, ahead of the team's trip to Minnesota to compete in the NJCAA National Tournament. The Student Life-sponsored event was a hit, with many event-goers sporting orange shirts, wigs and face paint.

NCC President Dr. Mark Erickson congratulated the team for its outstanding effort and told the young women how proud all of NCC is of them.

Head Coach Adrian Yaguez thanked the crowd for their show of support. "We're going to go to Minnesota and play like every point is our last point. And we'll remember this rally, and keep it in our bag to reach for when we need it."

Team captains Lori Deutsch and Jax Babezki cut celebratory cakes while Beyonce's "Run the World (Girls)" played loudly on the PA system. The Spartans will travel to Minnesota on November 11, competing for the national title on November 13-14. It will be NCC's second trip to nationals in three seasons.

Players include Kalli Walling, Megan Crimi, Morgan Barnes, Lori Deutsch, Rachael Caywood, Bridget Lozier, Anona Bauman, Abby Monks, Taylor Lamana, Hannah Park, Kailee Dube and Jax Babezki. Jenna Schweitzer is assistant coach. For information about the roster, visit the Athletics page.
