2016 Science Olympiad Champs!

The greatest minds in high school science compete at NCC

Gliders, electric vehicles, disease detectives, invasive species experts and other science afficiandos swarmed Northampton Community College on March Science Olympiad 20164 as area high school students participated in the annual Science Olympiad competition. The Science Olympiad is a tournament of rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of individual and team events.

Sixteen area high schools participated in the Science Olympiad:  William Allen, Bethlehem Catholic, Central Catholic, East Stroudsburg North, East Stroudsburg South, Emmaus, Freedom, Lehighton, Liberty, Nazareth, Parkland, Pleasant Valley, Pocono Mountain East, Pocono Mountain West, Stroudsburg, and Whitehall. The competition was broken up into three divisions: Mountain Valley Conference, Lehigh Valley Conference, and Overall.

Schools competed against other schools in their regions, and then for overall bragging rights. The day finished with an awards ceremony at which the winners were announced:

First Place:  Stroudsburg
Second Place: Parkland
Third Place: Central Catholic
