The top-seeded Northampton Community College (NCC) women’s volleyball team edged Harrisburg Area Community College, 3-2, to claim the 9th Region 19 Championship in Spartans program history. This earned them a spot at the NJCAA National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa this November.
“What can I say,” said NCC’s Head Coach Rachael Caywood, “these girls are amazing, and they don’t quit. I’m just so proud of their fight and perseverance.”
Ayana Bomani recorded 14 kills, 22 digs and 8 blocks, while Kailen Felty had 8 kills, 5 service aces, 19 digs and 12 blocks.
Joy Wetzel added 6 kills and 10 blocks and setter Leana Angelone was credited with 33 assists and 24 digs.
The win moves Northampton to 15-0 overall. They are undefeated this season.
The Spartans now advance to their 7th NJCAA National Tournament, scheduled for November 9-11 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
