Grad Profile: Carrie Fuller

Carrie Fuller, Northampton Community College (NCC) business administration student, is fueled by service and leadership. Originally from Winburne, Pennsylvania, she knew she wanted to start her journey at a reputable community college, but none were conveniently located near  her. She stumbled upon NCC in her college search, and the housing options on the Bethlehem campus gave her the opportunity to live on campus while she attended a college she felt was a good fit for her.

“I chose to study business administration because I thought it would cater to my own personal strengths. I've always fell naturally into leadership roles; so, I wanted to utilize what I've learned through those experiences in my career. I’d like a job that values me and my skill set, not just my ability to work.”

Fuller was part of several initiatives at NCC through her involvement with Student Life. As the Women's Club President, she spearheaded the "Go With the Flow" campaign, providing free menstrual products to those in need, sparking recognition from NCC President, David A. Ruth, and initiating dialogue for sustainable solutions in schools across the community. During the Student Life Spring Leadership Class, she engaged with business leaders across the Lehigh Valley and advocated for community college funding in Harrisburg. Her participation in the Pride Club and the Student Diversity Board became avenues for fostering safe spaces, celebrating diversity, and championing inclusivity across campus.

Her induction into the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society underscored Fuller's commitment to leadership and community impact. To top it all off, Fuller received the Irvine Freshman Leadership Award in spring 2023 and will be the commencement speaker at this winter’s graduation.

Reflecting on these experiences, Fuller realized the power to effect change on those around her. "My experiences have shown me that I am able to make a difference in my community," affirmed Fuller.

After she graduates, Fuller plans to take a gap semester, but she would like to go back to college thereafter to earn her bachelor's degree. In the meantime, she wants to focus on career development and resume building to lay the framework for her future professional endeavors.
