NCC Partners with Three Colleges for Transfer Agreements

This January, Northampton Community College (NCC) announced three new partnerships to create a seamless transfer pathway for students pursuing an education at NCC who wish to continue at a four-year university. The agreements include Pennsylvania State University (PSU), Villanova University and Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania.

The PSU agreement allows NCC students to transfer to a parallel baccalaureate degree program at one of the PSU College Commonwealth campuses, which does not include University Park. Students will be guaranteed admission if they have earned a GPA of 2.0 or higher and are in good standing with NCC. NCC students may receive a RaiseMe Transfer Scholarship, which will provide grants up to a maximum of $7,000, if they meet eligibility requirements. The agreement covers 14 specific majors at PSU campuses:

  • Biology
  • BioBehavioral Health
  • Business
  • Corporate Communication
  • Criminal Justice
  • English
  • Health and Human Development
  • Health Policy Administration
  • Multidisciplinary Studies
  • Nursing (RN to BS)
  • Psychology
  • Rehabilitation and Human Services
  • Science
  • Project and Supply Chain Management

The Villanova University agreement is specific to majors available through Villanova's College of Professional Studies. This provides an excellent opportunity for NCC’s adult student learners because many of these programs are available online. Students can take advantage of Merit Tuition Reductions with up to a 25% tuition reduction rate depending on the student’s GPA.

Commonwealth University was created in 2022 as a merger between Lock Haven, Bloomsburg and Mansfield Universities. Students who apply for transfer

admission to Commonwealth University will be granted at least full junior standing in Commonwealth University's parallel major with an offer for a renewable transfer scholarship based on the students' academic performance while enrolled at NCC and at Commonwealth University. Up to $4,500 annually if living in residence halls and $3,000 if living off campus will be awarded depending on the student’s GPA.

These new agreements ensure that NCC students can transfer smoothly to the college of their choosing, ensuring minimal disruption in their educational journey and providing them with ample financial support.
