It's now possible in business administration and nursing

Hailed as a boon for students, a new partnership between Northampton Community College (NCC) and East Stroudsburg University (ESU) will make it possible for NCC graduates to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration in three years or to complete a bachelor of science in nursing from ESU on Northampton's Bethlehem Campus.
At a celebratory ceremony held at NCC on February 1, the presidents of the two institutions signed an agreement taking the collaboration between the two colleges to a new level. Over the years many students from Northampton have transferred to ESU to continue their studies after completing associate degrees, but this is the first time that ESU will be offering classes leading to a bachelor's degree on Northampton's campus.
"For our students who are place-bound in Bethlehem due to work or family responsibilities, this is huge," said NCC's president, Dr. Mark Erickson. It offers "affordability, expanded access, convenience, and reduced time to completion."
Dr. Marcia Welsh, president of ESU, promised that transferring to ESU's well-established programs in business and nursing will give students "an advantage in a very competitive job market."
Diane Jones of Bethlehem is one of the first students to take advantage of the agreement. A January graduate of NCC's registered nursing program, Jones has already received a job offer from a local hospital. She knows that earning a bachelor's degree will be expected, so she is back at NCC taking classes towards a bachelor's degree from ESU. Speaking at the signing ceremony, she said "Many of the same things that originally led me to choose NCC appealed to me about ESU's RN to BSN program. The classes are close to my home, and the schedule works with my family life."
