Watch the classic 1940 drama for free at Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas on October 20
Northampton Community College, in partnership with ArtsQuest, will sponsor a free screening and discussion of "The Grapes of Wrath" at Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas on Monday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.
The classic 1940 drama tells the tale of a farming family fleeing the Oklahoma Dust Bowl for the "promised land" of California. It stars Henry Fonda and John Carradine, and was directed by Oscar winner John Ford.
The screening is free and open to the public, but tickets must be reserved either in person at Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, or by calling the ArtsQuest office at 610.297.7100.
This screening is part of part of a year-long exploration of the theme, "Agriculture & the American Identity" at NCC.
The programming is made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, matched by generous donors. Community partners include the Bethlehem Area Public Library, Eastern Monroe Public Library, Bethlehem Area School District, Stroudsburg Area School District, Historic Bethlehem Partnership and Monroe County Historical Association.
