Global Studies @NCC

Want to travel the world and experience other cultures? Are you interested in how politics, economics, ecology, health issues, and entertainment cross global boundaries to impact the entire world? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are going to want to find out more about the global studies major at NCC.

World travel is built into this program.  Global studies majors have visited Denmark, China, Costa Rica, Egypt, Jordan, El Salvador and more. While you're having exciting adventures around the globe, you'll be getting a liberal arts education, focused on international relations with a choice of cultural experiences and languages. Unable to travel? A six-week experiential program with local organizations that have a global reach is also an option.

What Can You Do With a Degree in Global Studies?

The global studies associate degree program is designed to help you progress into an actively engaged, aware and ethical global citizen. You'll pursue a course of study touching on economics, politics, history and culture while learning how these trends shape the world.

In the global studies program, you'll explore hot-topic issues such as the effects of climate change on the developing world, and maternal health and women's rights. After the completion of your global studies program, you have the option to continue on to a four-year degree or to join the workforce at a nonprofit, government agency or other organization.
