Pursue Your Passions with NCC's Personal Enrichment Classes

Our Community Education program offers approximately 1,000 classes annually for all ages. With topics ranging from the Arts to Zumba, language skills to Notary Public, students can advance their professional development and personal enrichment skills at all three NCC campuses.



What We Offer

Spark your creativity in an Arts, Crafts or Photography class.

 

  • Create stunning original jewelry items, creative needle felting, and even candle making.
  • Enhance your knowledge of photography or boost your artistic skills and paint like a master.
  • Experience a full pottery studio on the Bethlehem Campus as you learn wheel throwing and slab built pottery.  
  • Design beautiful works of glass art using a special kiln at the Fowler Center's 3-D art studio.

Impress your company with fabulous recipes and cooking methods after attending a cooking class in our hands-on NCC Fowler Kitchen! Our cooking classes provide the opportunity learn from professional chefs and experienced instructors, learning their secrets as they lead you in preparing fun, creative, succulent dishes. From basic comfort foods to enticing sweets to a multitude of ethnic cooking varieties, there's a class for everyone at every skill level. And don't forget the drinks. After perfecting the ideal meal in the Fowler Kitchen, come learn how to  pair the perfect wine or spirit with it!  Join us as expert oenophiles and bartenders navigate students through the world of wines and spirits. Topics include how to choose a wine by its label, wine pairing, classic cocktails, and a journey through the spirits from gin to whiskey. Cheers!

Ever wanted to dance like a pro? Start today with one of our exciting, fun dance classes. Learn ballet, Latin... even belly dancing. Need to tone, sculpt or strengthen your body? Try a fitness class to have fun and meet new people, all while getting in shape. Whether you like core training, yoga, boxing, or Zumba, you'll find the class to meet all your fitness needs.

 

Our spacious studios are equipped with surround sound, mirrors, ballet bars, and various fitness equipment at either our Bethlehem or Southside locations. Our instructors can provide modifications to help you make the most of your workout.

 

If you're looking for something outside of our fitness studios, try hiking, archery, golf, or even how to handle a firearm. Discover new interests while staying active and healthy.

It's never too late to start planning your own financial future.  Our knowledgeable and experienced instructors will guide you in setting and maintaining goals and provide insight on how to make your money work best for you and your family.

 

NCC is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of State to provide the mandatory Basic Notary Education Course for both initial and reappointment applicants.

 

Graduates of our Notary Basics course consistently place in the Top 5 with successful completion of the state Notary exam. Upon taking the course, an applicant has 6 months to become a licensed notary with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Additionally, we offer a Mortgage Notary Signing Agent course! You do not have to be a licensed notary to take the signing agent course, but you must be a currently commissioned notary in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in order to perform the duties of a signing agent.

Spanish, French, Italian, Arabic... enrich your life learning a new language. Beginning and advanced classes are available, including conversation workshops. Learn American Sign Language to better communicate with the hearing impaired. 

 

All instructors are fluent in their language and have lived, studied, and vacationed in the country which their language is spoken; some are native speakers.

 

Do you want to share your thoughts, ideas and memories with others?  Our writing classes offer guidance in developing writing skills for personal memoirs, blogging, and novels.  

 

Command Spanish

Customize a Spanish class for your organization. Employees gain a basic understanding of the Spanish language useful in a variety of careers and workplaces. Emphasis is placed on understanding Spanish, learning common vocabulary and phrases, and speaking in work-specific situations for a more efficient and safe workplace. Update at Northampton Community College is a popular 8-week 'Speaker Series" that provides opportunities for participants to experience new speakers and cutting-edge topics each week. Topics include business, history, travel, the arts, the sciences, health, government, and leisure activities. The program concludes with lunch at Hampton Winds Restaurant.

Availability of Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is currently available online. Click here to view.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as : campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the College will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-Campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the College or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
